CSR
As part of its CSR approach, the charcuterie and seafood activity works alongside its upstream agricultural partners to secure their future and ensure the sustainability of its supply chains.
Particular attention is paid to the origin and production conditions of raw materials used in its recipes.
Pork
Bordeau Chesnel develops trusted partnerships to build a more sustainable sector by working directly with farmers to support more responsible farming models through:
- •Guaranteed compensation above average market prices, significantly higher for the most advanced farms
- •Financial incentives to deploy higher animal welfare farming models (e.g., straw bedding, free-farrowing systems)
- •Support to reduce environmental impact through measurement and monitoring tools
- •Controlled feed, using 100% French cereals with at least 20% barley
- •Preventive hygiene measures to minimize antibiotic use
Chicken
Bordeau Chesnel prioritizes local sourcing: most chicken farming is 100% French and located primarily in Western France.
Animal welfare initiatives include:
- •Access to natural light
- •Enriched housing (perches, pecking stones)
- •Increased living space (+10% currently, with a target of +30%)
By 2026, 100% of Bordeau Chesnel chicken supply will meet Better Chicken Commitment standards, including 20% from systems with outdoor or winter garden access.
Fish
100% of fish used in Coraya surimi products comes from sustainable fisheries (since 2022), verified by independent certification ensuring responsible practices.
Egg products
Although egg products represent a small share of sourcing, the Group has committed to using only cage-free eggs across all recipes.
This objective has been fully reached: since the end of 2025, 100% of eggs used by SAVENCIA are cage-free.
