Arias: the first cheese company in Spain to achieve B Corp® certification

In 2024, Arias became the first Spanish cheese company to obtain B Corp® certification. Founded in 1848 by Antonio Arias in the village of Corias de Pravia, in northern Spain, Mantequerías Arias has long been committed to sustainable, transparent, and responsible management across all its activities.

Being a B Corp® company, as Arias now is, means meeting exceptionally high standards of social and environmental performance, legal accountability, and transparency. These standards are assessed across five key areas: governance, employees, customers, community, and the environment.

Examples of Arias' commitment to its stakeholders:

  • High-quality products aligned with the Clean Label approach,
  • Sustainable management of the entire supply chain (Responsible Purchasing Charter, Animal Welfare Management Best Practices Charter),
  • Managerial, health, and safety policies highly valued by employees,
  • Partnerships with associations on numerous solidarity and inclusion projects.

Arias joins five other SAVENCIA subsidiaries certified as B Corp®
